Deflux® prefilled syringe
Minimally invasive treatment of vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) in children.
Deflux® is a viscous gel that is injected into or around the ureter ostium or into the distal ureter in children. This creates a valve function that prevents urine from flowing back out of the bladder. The injection of Deflux creates an increased tissue mass, resulting in coaptation of the distal ureter during filling and contraction of the bladder. The Detranomer microspheres are gradually surrounded by the host’s connective tissue at the implantation site.

The gel consists of two polysaccharides that have been in medical use for over two decades: non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA®) and dextranomer (Dx) microspheres. The substance NASHA in Deflux has been used in more than 40 million procedures worldwide. The Deflux® gel is injected using the Deflux® metal needle (3.7 F x 23 G x 350 mm).
Indication area*
Deflux® is
- indicated for the treatment of VUR. It is a gel that is injected into children with VUR at the point where the ureters are connected to the bladder. It is placed in such a way that the reflux of urine into the kidneys is stopped.
